Skin Tag Removal

A skin tag is a small, soft growth which is usually the same colour as your skin. They can range from just a few millimetres, to a few centimetres across, and are made up of collagen fibres and blood vessels. Skin tags most typically appear on the neck, and around eyelids, armpits, groins and chests. Common in both men and women, they do attend to appear more frequently with age or following a period of weight gain. They are completely benign, and nothing to worry about. However, like moles they can catch on clothing and jewellery, and general impact self-confidence around body image.

Luckily, removal is simple, straight-forward and available at Skin Matters by Colette, your aestheticians in Surrey. During an initial consultation we’ll confirm that it’s a skin tag, and not a wart, mole or lesion in disguise, and identify the appropriate technique for removal. Diathermy, also referred to as advanced electrolysis, is perhaps the most effective method in our arsenal, which sees an electro micro current precisely target the tag to force coagulation.

This procedure involves minimal to no discomfort, and zero downtime – so no need to take time out of your busy life to recover. However, there is a chance you may experience some redness and swelling. As with all the services provided at our beauty clinic, we’ll provide aftercare instructions to reduce the chance of any mark being left behind.
