Seborrheic Keratosis

One of the more common non-cancerous skin growths we encounter as we get older, seborrheic keratosis is typically brown, black or tan. They look waxy or scaly and are slightly raised, and typically come on gradually, on back, chest, face or neck. While benign and non-contagious, they can get caught on clothing much like a mole, or simply prove an aesthetic blemish you’d rather not suffer any longer.

Dealing with seborrheic keratosis is straightforward. Firstly, visit your doctor for advice. This is simply to ensure that seborrheic keratosis is what you think it is, and not something which can occasionally resemble it, such as melanoma or basal cell carcinoma. Once you’ve got the all clear, book in for a consultation at Skin Matters by Colette, a cosmetic clinic in Surrey staffed by skilled aestheticians.

The procedure itself is carried out under local anaesthetic, before a combination of cautery and curettage techniques are used to remove it. As seborrheic keratosis often emerges in numbers, you may wish to schedule in the removals all in one go, or visit us multiple times. It might be that you only want some seborrheic keratosis removed for now, merely instances that have gotten on your nerves. Whatever you decide, we’ll provide a straight-forward, tailored solution to banish them for good!
